When it comes to at-home masks charcoal is always my favorite. I’m a pretty results-driven estie so unless a product is going to benefit your skin in some way I’d rather not waste time with it. Charcoal has so many benefits and it’ll pretty much address most issues that will have you masking in between facial treatments.
- Draws out impurities
- Absorbs excess dirt, oil, debris
- Clears complexion
I usually will recommend an at-home charcoal based mask once a week, or 2-3 times a week for those who are more congested or acne prone. Gently cleanse using your usual cleanser (can use a cleansing brush if you have one). Apply a thin layer of the mask preferably using a mask brush. Leave on until dry or no more than 15 mins. Gently remove using a lukewarm washcloth. Pat dry and apply nightly skin care regimen.
It’s also perfectly fine to just mask portions of your face that need it more. Say you are particularly congested in your t-zone area (forehead, nose, chin), but not so much on your cheeks. You can just apply the mask to the areas that need it more frequently.
