I think we can all agree that we did not see any of this coming. I mean never in my wildest dreams did I think there’d be a time when beauty salons/clinics/medspas would actually be shut down. Just closed. Like all the beauty maintenance stuff that you do that you don’t even realize that you do because you’ve been doing is so long… just comes to a halt.
Now I realize it’s not the end of the world but it definitely left a lot of us trying to figure out some beauty DIY hacks real fast. Here’s a few tricks that I learned over Q that really came in handy. I’m hoping I won’t ever have to use theses again (lol), but ya never know!
1. Pedicure with cheese grater:
Give yourself an at-home callus removal with a cheese grater! Now I know it doesn’t sound all that glamorous but when you’re a couple months in of no pedi-you’ll be thanking me later 😉 Super easy to do: Just take that cheer grater into the shower with you, and after a few minutes of your feet getting wet start exfoliating with it. Don’t press too hard but hard enough that you should see some dead skin coming off! It sounds kind of gross but I swear it works and honestly it’s what they use at the nail salon.
2. Magnetic lashes:
Dermaplane at home:
Oh the little women’s facial shavers!! These sure were a godsend when the fuzz was growing in and the dead skin was piling up. Although nothing is going to be exfoliating as a true dermaplane, this most definitely did the trick! This little facial shaver can easily be used to clean up peach fuzz between dermaplane appointments or to hold you over if you just can’t make it in!
Self-tanning:
I LOVE self tanner! Being a very fair skin gal I don’t tan easily and I really don’t want to fry my skin either. I’ve been exclusively using self-tanner for the past 5 years and I just love it! First and foremost it keeps your skin healthy. By now we all know the dangers of prolonged UV exposure. BUT, self-tanning also makes me feel like a new woman. Whenever I tan that beautiful bronze glow makes me feel like 100 bucks. But seriously, at one point self-tanning was all I could do and it made me feel so much more put together. Instant glow up!

Marie
